It is with immense pleasure that we announce the appointment of an Assistant Lam to our hospital by the Dratshang Lhentshog. This significant addition marks a step forward in enhancing the hospital’s capacity to provide holistic care, blending medical treatment with spiritual support for our patients.
The 47-year-old Lam Choney Rangdrol officially joined the hospital today as the Assistant Lam. Prior to this appointment, Lam Choney Rangdrol served as the Community Service Lam of the Lhuntse Dratshang, where he accumulated invaluable experience in spiritual guidance and community engagement. He had also held various other key positions and and have undergone nine-year retreat, enriching his spiritual wisdom and practice.
The presence of both the Head Lam and the newly appointed Assistant Lam at the hospital is expected to significantly benefit patients, not only during their illnesses but also in moments of critical need, including end-of-life care and after deaths. In a society deeply rooted in religious and spiritual traditions, the integration of spirituality into healthcare serves as a vital component of the healing process. This approach helps to address the emotional, mental, and spiritual dimensions of health, complementing the hospital’s clinical services.
The administration and staff extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Dratsang Lhentshog and the government for appointing the Assistant Lam. Their support underscores the importance of spirituality as an integral part of healing and care in our referral hospital.
We look forward to witnessing the positive impact of this appointment as we continue to serve our community with dedication and compassion. The first Lam was appointed to the hospital on January 23, 2021.
