The event included first five days of Moenlam Chhenmo, followed by three days of Baza Guru Dungdrup, and culminated with Pelden Lhamoi Kurim on the final day today. The ceremony saw participation from all sectors, including the business community, residents of Mongar town, and nearby communities.

Eastern Regional Referral Hospital (ERRH) and PHC staff participated in this sacred event by offering Soeltshog for two days and donating a seed fund for Moenlam Chhenmo with little over one hundred thousand Ngultrum. ERRH staff aided in catering services, provided first aid services and daily screening for non-communicable diseases (NCDs) by stationing health personnels at public ground.

Coinciding with World Stroke Day on October 29, ERRH took the opportunity to raise awareness about stroke. Dr. Sonam Yangzom, a medical specialist, addressed the gathering, discussing stroke’s warning signs, preventive measures, and actions in case of a stroke. Aligned with this year’s theme, “Harnessing the Power of Sports to be Greater than Stroke,” Dr. Yangzom emphasized the importance of healthy lifestyle choices in reducing stroke risk.

The administration expresses its heartfelt gratitude to all ERRH staff, as well as the Gyelpozhing and Primary Health Center (PHC) staff, for their generous monetary contributions to support this significant event. The hospital’s involvement in both healthcare services and public health advocacy underscores its commitment to community well-being and awareness.
